I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Metro Aviation (Shreveport, LA) in Jan 2026
Interview
Interview process took place in two main parts. After initial contact with the recruiter the area manager reached out to set up a video interview. Video interview was with area manager and site manager. Very friendly and genuine interview - a really enjoyable experience and a great opportunity to get base specific information. After that an in-person interview was set up at the principle location in Shreveport, LA. Day started at 08:15 with a warm welcome and meet and great. Then I was asked to take a small written exam covering basic aerodynamics and regulations as well as aviation information. Area manager had given me material to study prior so I had an idea of what to expect. Then got a very warm hello from the DO and shortly after went off to the simulator. Had a very enjoyable flight getting a chance to check out the simulator itself, the specific aircraft I was up for, show basic flight competency and primarily prove my ability to learn. I then got a chance to sit down with the VP of the company and talk family life, shop talk and future of the company as well as company culture - very warm and genuine conversation. Then was followed by the formal sit down interview - which in and of itself was a fantastic and enjoyable experience. Very comfortable and hospitable interview asking “get to know you” questions and scenario based decision making questions. Everyone was very professional and easy going. Then was given a tour of the facility and followed up by a review of the offer letter. I was on my way back to the airport by noon.
Common theme throughout the process as a whole is that Metro is a family. This claim was proven to be absolutely true every step of the way with smiles, laughter, warmth, passion, professionalism, humility and hospitality. Can’t thank everyone at Metro enough for making this experience as great as it was. A truly outstanding organization.

Question 1
Have you ever had to explain a “no go” situation to someone who disagreed or didn’t understand? If so, how did you handle it?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Metro Aviation (Shreveport, LA) in Oct 2025
Interview
I'm impressed with the company. One of the owners met me the morning of the interview. We sat and talked for a while. He stressed that Metro is an aviation company, first and foremost, they provide several services to customers, and that safety is their #1 priority. Metro Aviation doesn't pay as well as some other companies, but I like their focus on maintenance, training, and safety. The support their pilots receive from Ops seems to be top-notch. Overall, I'm very impressed with Metro Aviation and look forward to working with them in the future.
