      Project Lead Interview

      May 5, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Raleigh, NC
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at MetLife (Raleigh, NC) in Nov 2014

      Interview

Started with a one hour phone interview with two people about project management specifics. After that I had two, one hour in-person interviews with two different people. The in-person interview was a behavior interview. The overall process was long and rather disorganized. I suspect that at the time they have not ironed out all of their recruitement processes.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They wanted to know the details of the projects I had led, like how large the budgets were, how many people involved, where they were geographically, etc. It was challenging, and I would suggest studying your past projects in depth in order to be answer such questions. Also, be able to talk about challenges that you have overcome as a PM. This was the most challenging part of the interview. The in person behavioral interview was easier. There are lots of behavioral practice interview questions online to help you prepare.

      Interview

Painful - lots of short 30 minute or less interviews face to face; Only had time for 3 or 4 questions from the interviewer before the time was up; each took half a day of my time to drive there, wait, and drive back only to be told I would be a better fit for another group and they want to interview me months from now.
