The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Merz Apothecary
Interview
She was nice and explained the expectations clearly. I wasn't offered the job but it was a nice experience and nice seeing the behind the scenes. The place seemed a bit scattered but she said they were moving some of it to another spot.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Merz Apothecary (Chicago, IL) in Sep 2018
Interview
Applied and followed up via email, then had a phone interview, then requested a conceptual ad campaign to be designed, then an in-person interview with a follow up call. I rate this process as negative because after the in-person interview, I was requested to take two weeks off from my current full-time job to go work for Merz full time only for 10 days to see if they wanted to hire me. This is only possible for someone who is unemployed. Alongside this, they were unwilling to pay the average wage of an entry-level graphic designer for a small company in Chicago by answering "Well... you're not a senior designer..." Throughout the interview process I was repeatedly asked if this was my "first real job" even though they had seen my resume with a total of 3.5 years of agency experience.
