I completed a senior-level case study for a growth role at Mentalyc. The assignment was extensive, covering SEO, CRO, content strategy, PR, and technical SEO. After submitting my work, I did not receive a clear outcome for over two weeks. During that period, I was told I would receive an update “the next day,” which did not happen. I ultimately decided to withdraw due to the lack of clear timelines and communication during the final stage of the process. The work itself was engaging and the team was polite throughout, but the hiring process would benefit from clearer evaluation criteria and more structured feedback timelines. Given the level of detail required and the lack of structured feedback, the exercise felt closer to a consulting deliverable than a standard interview assessment.
