      Digital Content Manager Interview

      Aug 22, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at MeetEdgar (Austin, TX) in Aug 2018

      Interview

I applied online and heard back a few days later to schedule a 45-min video interview that week. The hiring manager said they were "looking to get to know me." Due to a busy work schedule that week, I scheduled the interview the following week, which I thought would give me more time to prepare due to my busy schedule. The evening prior to the day of my interview, I get an e-mail from their "marketing advocate" saying they've, "had several candidates at different stages of interviewing....as of today, we have filled the digital content manager position and are no longer moving forward with interviews for this position. Therefore, I will be canceling our meeting scheduled for tomorrow." What's the point of an interview then if you're just going to flake? If MeetEdgar was under such time constraints that they couldn't wait one more day to interview me, they should have let me know that. This was not only inconsiderate of my time spent preparing but a red flag for the overall well-being of the company itself. I've worked for a variety of companies, large and small, and in this situation, it only makes you think about the maturity of the MeetEdgar, what growing pains they have, and if they are actually that great of a place to work when they don't even have it fully together. I can only imagine what other organizational problems exist within the company...

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There were none because the interview was canceled last minute. There was initially an online questionnaire I answered though before getting asked to do a video interview.

      Anonymous interview candidate

      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at MeetEdgar

      Interview

Very unprofessional interview and process. I was notified right away to schedule a short video chat to "chat about the role" and "answer any questions I might have about the company." This turned into a full interview, and there was no opportunity to ask questions about the role or the company. The interview was given by someone who was only at the company for a few weeks. Huge red flag. The interview was incredibly unprofessional and no follow-up was given at all. They did not tell candidates when or how they would follow up. I sent an email thanking them and asking for next steps and never heard a single word back. The whole process is just very unprofessional. If someone gives you an hour of their time to answer your questions, you should follow up with them if they were not chosen for the role. Additionally, if an email says that you will be given a chance to ask questions about the company, that should happen.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Demanded to know the exact salary candidates wanted in the first interview, because if it was too high it was laughable and if it was too low it was an issue.
