      Editor Interview

      Sep 5, 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Meedow

      Interview

Applied via LinkedIn and then communicated via email correspondence. Email interactions were very quick, if somewhat erratic with scheduling and changing interview times the day of. However, generally sounded flexible with interview times, although never apologized for sudden changes. Interview was very casual, including the interviewer eating while talking. Communication was a bit hard to understand, which might in part be because of Chinese language barrier on their part. Aims didn't sound very aligned with the posted detailed job description, and the interviewer had no editorial background, making it difficult to effectively discuss writing experiences.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The interviewer spent the majority of the time requesting a very specific type of writing piece, rather than looking into the person's full body of editorial work. Preference seemed to be given to non-professional, personal work. The interviewer was also very repetitive in the questions, so be prepared to answer the same question multiple times.
