I faxed my resume, didn't hear anything for a while and then received a call to interview with the owner and administrator. Obvious cultural deference paid to the male owner. Second interview was only with the owner. I should have paid closer attention as he openly criticized his current employees. I was offered the position, a decent salary and benefits. I learned after leaving my stable, comfortable position, that expected salary and benefits would not be in effect until after a surprise 90 day probationary period. After 90 days and a positive review, I asked about my health benefits. I was assured on 4 separate occasions that benefits were in effect, which of course turned out to not be true. Administration had no intention of honoring the terms of the unwritten hiring agreement. Make sure to get everything in writing before taking a leap of faith with this organization.
