      Executive Interview

      Nov 6, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Santa Clara, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Malwarebytes (Santa Clara, CA) in Sep 2018

      Interview

Applied and received an email within 24 hours from a recruiter to schedule a call. It was fairly standard phone screen. Recruiter wanted me to speak with hiring manager ASAP, and scheduled for the next day. It was apparent from the beginning the hiring manager was not interested. Very much a standard "tell me about yourself" asked some questions and he responded with doubt and some sarcasm to my response. I asked some questions which were flatly answered, no excitement about the company, it ended early. The recruiter did follow up the next day with a no interest. Overall bad experience, just as noted in several other posts on this site. MALWARBYTES - pay attention

      Interview

Sourcer reaches out — says I look like a great fit and the hiring manager is very interested in speaking with me. Asks to connect for a few minutes. I respond promptly with a proposed time. The sourcer ghosts me and doesn’t respond. I follow up a week later and they say “Oh the hiring manager is meeting several candidates this week. If he doesn’t hire one, we will be in touch.” What a joke. Don’t bother responding to this place. They’ll just ware your time. Very unprofessional.

      Question 1

Didn’t get this far — just astonished by the lack of professional conduct by the sourcing team. In such a competitive hiring market, I can’t believe they’d operate with such a negative candidate experience.
