      Backend Engineer Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Madison Logic (New York, NY) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Process was lightning fast for me, as I had another offer that had a clock on it. Everyone involved was incredibly helpful and accommodating. As with most positions, it started with a phone call from HR. Typical stuff, they just want to make sure you can hold a conversation and know some basic computer stuff. Then comes the fun part. The first skype interview is followed up with a really fun coding project. You have three hours to do it and can write it in any language ya like. The following day, I had two more skype interviews with two team-manager type people, one of whom I presume I'll be working under. Both were a beautiful mix of technical and conversational. Overall the process was spectacularly quick. I sent my application in around the 3 week of July, got a call the second week of August on a Friday, and had an offer by Tuesday. Again, this might have had something to do with the other offer, but I was blown away with Madison's efficiency.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Madison Logic in Sep 2024

      Interview

1st(30 mins) round telephonic conversation with the recruiter 2nd(45 mins) round is a video call with the engineering director. This call is to know about your thought process and how you think. We discussed clean code, clean architecture, and coding best practices. 3rd round is take-home assignment which needs to be solved in 2 hrs. It took me around 3 hours to complete and submit along with test cases. Follow clean code best practices 4th round 1.5hrs technical interview. Your solution submitted for take-home assignment will be discussed for any improvements, or code refactoring. The candidate needs to write the code on screen share. This is followed by a couple of programming questions. After this, you will receive a confirmation if you have passed the interview or not followed by the offer letter. The process is pretty smooth and fast with lot of clarity.
