It was a remote Teams interview. I felt uncomfortable for two reasons:
1. I had to hold up my passport alongside my face for photographic evidence that I was who I said I was (they had warned that I would need to show something with a photo). What was unusual, and I feel invasive, was I think the interviewer was looking at my DOB, as he asked me to hold it closer to the camera, squinted, then wrote something down. It wasn't simply a name/photo check. I feel it's unprofessional and a breach of privacy. Surely a simple name/photo confirmation is enough, with further checks at the hiring stage?
2) They asked me to remove my blurred background on Teams, which I feel is unprofessional, without any warning.
3) I felt the interviewers were pushing through and didn't feel as if they were engaged. I knew early on that I wouldn't get the job as the interviewers were purely going through the motions. To be fair, they were friendly, but unengaged.
