Interview
I applied on Indeed and received a phone call within a couple days for an in person interview. A couple days after the in person interview I received an email saying I made it to the 2nd round of the LUXIE interview. This 2nd round was more of a skills test.
"Since Luxie Beauty is in the beauty industry, we want to make sure that whoever joins the team can think in that mindset. Please take 10 photos. Each photo should tell us a different story related to beauty. Be as creative as possible."
They gave me less than 5 days to complete this test. A week after completing the 2nd round I received another email saying I made it to the last round, which was meeting the CEO for the final decision. This interview was more just to negotiate pay. They only wanted to pay minimum wage and required a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience. CEO then offered to pay $18 an hour for only part-time just to see if it's the right fit or not (a 1 month trial period). He mentioned that he would call me the same day to let me know my schedule. A day passed and I never received a call. I emailed the person who I had been interviewing with the following day asking for my schedule and it wasn't until hours later that I received an email back saying that they decided to move forward with another candidate. If I wouldn't have reached out again no one would have told me that they changed their mind.
Overall the fact that they couldn't have communicated made it a negative experience and waste of time.

Luxie, Inc. has taken many steps to make positive changes. We have overhauled our management team completely and have implemented clear internal controls. We have clarified our benefit plan, and now offer a very competitive package.
Our new hiring process allows us to take more time to better understand the skillset of the various applicants. We look at past experience and performance, and always try to find ways to better facilitate the hiring process.
