I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lunar / Solar Group (New York, NY) in Nov 2019
Interview
Pretty straight forward, one interview with CEO, one with a team member. Then they had me come in and meet some if the team and I accepted the offer. I was able to talk to different team members to see which team was a good fit.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lunar / Solar Group (New York, NY) in Jun 2021
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me. This was one of the weirdest interview experiences. I met with 3 people total and no one seemed to know really what they were looking for in a candidate or what the role entailed. The worst part was this three hour interview revolving around some personality assessments I did. It was with the growth lead and then some guy from their board of directors I was told I wouldn’t work with but who “just liked interviewing people”. It was the biggest waste of my time when it took three hours and he wanted to hear about my history starting in high school. It took so long that the growth lead actually turned off his camera and just stopped participating. I was told we would probably need a part two!? Thankfully I think they went in a different direction. Ultimately the company seemed to not value work life balance, and was pretty lost and toxic. They mentioned not liking hiring for senior roles outside the company because there was a lot of competition for role. Overall not my cup of tea and three hours I’ll never get back because they just let anyone interview people for funsies.
