I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lumenous Device Technologies (Sunnyvale, CA) in Jun 2015
Interview
I was contacted for a phone interview by hr and asked some general behavioral questions. In the following 2-3 weeks, I completed some online behavioral questions and needed to detect errors in images of engineered shapes. Then I submitted a fabrication statement about something I had built, then a puzzle/art statement about a kind of puzzle or artistic endeavor that interested me.
Then I was flown in for a day-long interview consisting of a dexterity test, a series of fast-paced aptitude tests testing things such as logical reasoning, mathematical, geometrical, and memorization skills, followed by interviews with the technical director, engineering manager, and founder of the company. Overall, a pleasant experience but get a lot of rest the day before and be prepared to talk a lot!

Question 1
Q: I was asked to describe university research I had done on my resume (mostly my laboratory work, senior design project, and other engineering skills)
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lumenous Device Technologies (Berkeley, CA) in Jul 2015
Interview
The phone interview was a glad chat. I was asked for a series of standard questions (about 10) but the interviewer made the process pretty relax and enjoyable. They are open to questions as well and were really responsive.

Question 1
What is the company culture that you expect?
What makes you a great fit to this position?
Who do you admire?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Lumenous Device Technologies (Santa Clara, CA) in May 2014
Interview
After sending in a resume and cover letter, you will be contacted by HR asking for several things. This will be a multistep process where the first step is a fabrication statement about something you did or built. The second was a puzzle and art statement; here you talk about some kind of puzzle and describe possible art and how it you feel about it. Then there are two online quizzes, one is a technical one about spotting differences in parts, while the other is a personality test. They then ask for 5 references (2 personal/3 professional). Then there are two interviews: a phone interview and a in person interview. The actual in person interview is grilling. First is a dexterity test, followed by a multitasking test and then a written test. The second part of the in person interview is to interview with the engineer manager, the technical director, and the production manager. The CEO is the last person who will interview you. Overall its a whole day interview so be ready to talk a lot.
It was unfortunate that the CEO was not able to interview me due to unexpected business; it seems like the company environment in the offices was good. The people seemed driven in their field. The only thing I did not like was the company itself is kind of small and the offices are not as spacious as I would have liked. All in all it looks like a good company to develop skills in manufacturing and design engineering.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Not many difficult questions, but the technical director really does ask some harder questions. The production manager asks questions that are a little less technical and more personality. It is good to share some interests . The engineering manager asks standard questions and is very pleasant.
