Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand that your interview process did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify our procedures and address your concerns.
At Living Design, we strive to conduct thorough and comprehensive interviews to ensure we find the best candidates who align with our company culture and possess the necessary skills and qualifications. Our selection process is designed to be rigorous and fair, and it consists of three distinct stages:
Initial General Interview: This stage focuses on assessing the candidate's portfolio, software proficiency, and relevant socio-demographic factors. We inquire about residency, work permits, proximity to the office, and social situation to ensure candidates can effectively perform on-site work. Additionally, we verify the authenticity of portfolio projects by discussing the candidate's involvement and contributions. We understand not all portfolio presentations align with the candidates experience, and we need to clarify this.
Practical Assignment: Successful candidates from the initial interview are invited to complete an 8-hour assignment at their convenience. This assignment is designed to evaluate their design knowledge and software skills in a practical setting, providing us with a tangible measure of their abilities.
Offer Presentation: Candidates who successfully complete the assignment are invited for a final interview, during which we present a detailed employment offer.
Regarding the concerns raised about the interview itself, we want to address the following:
Personal Questions: While we do ask questions about a candidate's socio-demographic situation, it's always within the context of assessing their ability to perform the job and ensure compliance with legal requirements. We understand that some questions may feel personal, but they are intended to ensure a smooth and effective working relationship.
Comments on Clothing and Personal Life: We take allegations of inappropriate comments very seriously. Living Design is committed to maintaining a professional and respectful environment for all candidates and employees. Any behavior that deviates from this standard is unacceptable. We do not accept comments on clothing, or any other personal attributes that are not relevant to the job itself.
Innuendos and Remarks: We categorically deny any claims of sly innuendos or remarks. We strive to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor throughout the interview process.
Sexist Behavior: Living Design values diversity and inclusion, and we do not tolerate any form of discrimination, including sexism. We are committed to treating all candidates and employees fairly and respectfully, regardless of gender.
We regret that your experience left you with a negative impression. We are committed to continuous improvement and will review our interview processes to ensure they align with our commitment to professionalism and respect. We encourage all potential candidates to consider the full context of our selection process and our commitment to fair and equitable employment practices. We wish you the best in your job search.
