Sat down and asked about my experience working with kids, how I felt about tutoring, and the types of incentives I'd offer to work with difficult children. It's a very standard interview for anyone who has worked in education.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you feel about working in a student's home?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Leading Edge Learning Center (Moreno Valley, CA) in Jan 2014
Interview
There's no real interview. I received an orientation phone call 3 months after applying. I believe they just accepted me based on what resume had.
During the orientation, I was informed on the work process. The company will try to find clients to match your time and location preference. Guaranteed work relies heavily on client referrals and tutors' own marketing skills.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Do you prefer tutoring in the classroom setting? Or is at-home tutoring okay with you?
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Leading Edge Learning Center (San Bernardino, CA) in Feb 2013
Interview
The hiring process was short, not efficient, and did not accurately gauge (my capabilities) as an employee. IF they had spent more time with the review process, they may have seen that I qualified for a better position.
