      Editor Interview

      Nov 1, 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pittsfield, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Laurin Publishing (Pittsfield, MA)

      Interview

I'm reviewing their interview process - as everyone should be aware. I was interviewed for an editorial position. The company called me 3 times before I decided that I wanted to learn more about the job. Over the course of 2 months, I interview twice in person at headquarters and also completed an at home "take home test". I never received an answer from the chief editor. In fact, I had to email her multiple times and she hasn't told me that I did not get the job. This process has been going on for over 5 months. This is ridiculous and very unprofessional.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Laurin Publishing (Pittsfield, MA)

      Interview

After applying online, I was contacted via email to schedule an in-person interview. I was out of state at the time, but was very interested in getting more experience as an editor, so I drove 4 hours in the middle of the week for the interview. After waiting 30 minutes after my scheduled interview time, there was a rushed verbal interview with two women, one of which talked down to me quite a bit, before they put me into an old storage room to complete a written exam. They told me they would be in touch either way in a few days to two weeks regarding the position. After two weeks I emailed inquiring about the status of my application, and received no reply. I tried several more times and still have not heard back (it's been 2 years since so...). Extremely unprofessional organization that clearly does not value your time. Unbelievably rude to not so much as say "No, you didn't get the job" after taking days off and driving hours for the interview. And I see I'm not the only one, given the other review on here. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
