So I initially received an email after I applied to this job. I was really excited because this seemed right up my ally..... Little did I know the editor, Wendy, would be incredibly rude and unprofessional. She apparently comes from higher end magazines in New York and seems pretty upset about stepping down to a smaller and more local publication - from what she told me upon our first meeting. She emailed me an assignment to see how I did and told me she would get back with me on feedback and whether or not I got the job. I emailed the assignment back to her before the deadline and expected something within the week. After a week of no response, I contacted her via email and she told me she would get back with me within another week to let me know. Nothing. Usually, I wouldn't be too concerned about this. But coming from a small publication in a smaller suburb of Dallas and given the impression I would be contacted if I did or did not receive the job, I am offended and actually glad I didn't get an offer. I would hate to work for a place who doesn't value even potential employees or even have the courtesy of following through with their word. I can only imagine how people on the inside feel... And reading through the reviews, it doesn't seem much better. Good luck if you apply and if you get offered the job. But don't expect much.
