I had an interview call with HR. The company is in Karachi, but I live in another city a few hours away.
HR asked me to travel to their office for the next interview. I told them honestly about my difficult situation:
I have been out of work since February 2025. I have a family to support, and travelling costs too much money right now. I requested an online interview instead.
They refused. They said 'important discussions' can only happen face-to-face.
It is sad that in todayâs digital world, a company lacks basic human kindness. They prefer to put financial stress on an unemployed professional instead of using an online call. They do not care about people's real struggles.
