      Paid Social Assistant Manager Interview

      Dec 15, 2024

      No offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at L'Oréal (New York, NY) in Feb 2024

      Interview

My recruiter interview went well. They liked the experience I have, that I researched the company, and my personal story with beauty. My hiring manager interview went OK. They asked me a question about campaign optimizations which I wasn't able to answer fully so that hindered my chances of making it to the next round. Personally, I thought it was weird that they were asking about optimizations to someone who's only had entry level experience. Also, don't refer to their brand partners as clients. I did that in the interview and it seemed like one of the interviewers didn't like that. Sorry, I didn't know. I had to wait 3 weeks after that interview to be told that I didn't make it to the next round. I wished they would've told me earlier rather than making me wait for 3 weeks but the recruiter was nice about it. She did say that the company sees me as a strong talent and will save my info for any future roles. 10 months later....there have been no suitable roles for me in the NYC office itself. It made me feel like I will never get a chance to work in L'Oreal, given I've been interviewed for the company multiple times for the company before but never making it past the recruiter round, except for the paid social assistant manager role. I honestly got the feeling that the hiring managers didn't see me as a strong candidate and saw me as not up to their standards, and honestly, I wouldn't have wanted to work with people like that anyway. I had to deal with that in my last role where I was rotated into a team that didn't interview me. Never again!! I do currently work now but I still hope I am able to find a suitable role for me in L'Oreal NYC with a team that is friendly and professional, that chooses me to be in their team.
