The first interview was with HR through the telephone, a quick chat to learn more about the company and its benefits and the interviewers inform me of the salary range for a mid-level developer (45 ~ 60k/y). After this, I had a massive 2 hours interview with the 2 developers more the manager of the team and they asked me about everything they could ask. At the end of the technical interview, they started a small challenge: how I would create a system to manage deliveries.
After the technical challenge, I had a small talk in private with the manager and he asked me about the salary aimed. I said the first range that was passed to me on the first interview and he agreed, based on my interview.
The problem started when he asked about my educational background. I did economics at college and he changed his posture and said that some information you only have on the course of computer science. I explained to him the method that I used to get informed and how I study things like time and space complexity, networks, and so on.
After two days they gave the proposal of 34.5k/y, less than I earn nowadays.
The manager tried to convince telling me to look at the welcome bonus and the tax benefits that I would be eligible for being a foreigner.
