The company reached out to me trying to convince me to leave a role I was currently at. They were extremely impressed with my background and wanted to proceed as quickly as possible with my application. HR followed up to see if I had my CPA license. I told them I did not have my license. They immediately withdrew my application from consideration because they said I did not have the "follow through" because I didn't get my license. The funny thing is, I passed the CPA exam with scores that put me in the top 10% of the profession, but I just didn't get the license because I didn't need it. This was at the time the company was involved in a high-profile accounting scandal.
