I applied online. I interviewed at Korro Bio (Boston, MA) in Jun 2026
Interview
I waited about a month after interviewing with the hiring manager before they emailed me back for a 3 hour on-site panel interview. They confirmed the scheduling of that on-site in an email sent to me on very short notice. When I did the panel interview a lot of the scientists seemed unprepared for me being there and asked me few questions relevant to the position, with each 1:1 being incredibly repetitive. I got a bad impression of their company culture and organization from that experience. After the interview I was told that HR would reach out to me about sending my references. I waited for an entire week, only to have to reach out to HR directly and then was promptly sent a rejection email. I feel like the whole process could have been organized a lot better especially the on-site.

Question 1
What are the most common areas of troubleshooting for NGS? What are the QCs performed for NGS? When would you determine that the sample has not passed QC and not to proceed to sequencing with it? When is it still salvageable?
How closely do you cross-collaborate with protein sciences, data sciences, computational departments? How much experience do you have leading a pipeline project? How do you manage timelines and deliverables?
HR conatced me and asked to meet the Indian hiring manager who I knew had no experience in that chemistry. The CEO and four other critical positions were held by Indians typical nepotism situation I experienced many times. I filed complaints at the at my previous company against them. The dude on the board of directors remebered me and the interview was cancelled. My Indian colleage himself quit from Korro Bio and claimed that entire HR quit the same day. Clearly the company with many problems. One of founders was also present during the first call. I knew him very well as a con artist from his previous exploits.
It was a 30-min zoom call with the hiring manager who asked generic questions. They were nice and courteous but we had no spark. I decided not to proceed after the initial phone screen.
