Interview
They asked me several questions for 20 minutes, which were basically about personalities, experiences, and qualifications. There was not much to prepare for the interview. There were particularly no tests.

Interview
There was a complex series of written questions emailed to me that I completed and sent in to the HR team to review. They replied and set up an interview for me at their Roppongi HQ in Tokyo Midtown. I was given a test in Japanese with some trick questions that I fell for and made an absolute fool of myself as my Japanese level was around N5 at the time. Still I managed to conduct the entire interview in Japanese but switched to English at the end to show I was competent in at least one of the required languages for the role. Ultimately I was offered a position at Kojima Productions in Los Angeles but I did not wish to relocate back to America so I politely declined.

Question 1
These were all in Japanese and I honestly do not recall?

Interview
I arrived to the building 10 minutes before. Waited then the HR person comes with two of the other Facility Specialists and take me to a meeting room. Was misgendered by the Facility Specialist the whole time - basically they just told me about the position and kept asking me over and over and over again why I left my past jobs the only question they really asked. I told them vaguely it was due to toxic work environments and that’s when things changed. Once they heard that she had the guy take me on a tour while she disappeared and I knew I didn’t get it by the vibe and he shook my hand and said “we’ll email you with a schedule next week if you get the position” and chucked me out into the rain - didn’t even give me a second to put on my coat so I had to run to my car. I have worked for basically almost every Japanese Anime company in CA and let me tell you the Japanese Work Culture is a thing and it’s toxic. It’s been three weeks since the interview so it’s safe to say I was ghosted - but was ghosted by them never even got a “no” so. I was super over qualified for this position. Stay away from toxic work places.
