I had an initial 1 hour interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager seemed disengaged from the start of the conversation. We discussed the role mostly and I never got a true answer on what exactly the position was supposed to do. I discussed how I enjoy the technical side of engineering, but I think the "correct" answer was supposed to be more about managing newer production lines they were brining online.
I left the interview with a bad feeling that it would be a bad fit for me, but still didn't fully understand what they were looking for in someone. The hiring manager told me they would reach out a week later to discuss a second interview; I never heard back and I never reached back out because I didn't like the way the interview went.
I think their hiring system was very mediocre and it reinforced my decision to not want to work there.
