First I went to kmart.com and filled out the online application. From there I received a call from the store's HR manager. After setting up an interview that same day I received the call, I went in and it was 1-on-1 with he & I. He asked me about my experience in retail and how I would handle difficult customers and the like.

In order to apply you must go online to put in your application and there is a character test (not sure if that's what they call it). It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete all of it. I was called in for an interview by HR. She was not real easy to get a hold of to schedule an appointment. I had my first interview with her which went well. I then had a second interview with the manager. The interview process was relaxed and did not take long. The office was clean and neat and the staff was nice but it was getting close to the holidays and you could tell they were overwhelmed by the increase in business, staff, hiring, etc. I knew within a couple of days that I was hired. When I came in they had a group of probably 8 of us. They assigned positions randomly without any rhyme or reason or any regards to what we had done in our past.

All the questions were normal interview questions from what I can remember. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Easy fast just be confident. They gave a small test question and I was in and out in 20 mins. I beilve its a two part interview one with hr and another with management.
