I applied for a Talent Manager role and proceeded to phone screen. Ultimately, I was pressured to backflip on a proposed salary in a very coercive manner, promised a vacancy, only to be told after I accepted the interview invitation that the position did not exist and that effectively, I would have to beg a director to establish a position.
I would take particular caution when applying to these roles, particularly around conditions of employment, to avoid setting yourself up for disappointment later in the process.
