Interview
I went through a JMO headhunter. After the initial hiring conference, Kinder Morgan brought me out to their terminal site in Carteret, NJ. They were very thorough, personal, and professional. They took two days to give tours of the local facilities and conducted interviews on the last day. The interview was a board interview and wasn't stressful at all. They were very interested in my background and my interest in the company. It was a very good experience all around.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Kinder Morgan
Interview
Interview was panel type in the typical fashion. HR and 2 terminal managers were present. They had already reviewed my resume pretty heavily and we focused on what wasn't on it. Used the STAR format for my "success stories."

Question 1
Besides the standard "tell us about yourself" they asked things like "why operations?" "what do you know about KM?" Some questions drilled down to leadership styles, etc. Tell us about a time you had to manage a employee who was underperforming, etc. They were pretty curious about my previous 11 years in the military and why I was leaving.

Interview
Initial interview at hiring conference in a panel interview. Follow on interview was conducted on site. There was an opportunity to talk with multiple individuals from different departments. The interview was conducted in a very professional manner and allowed for a free flowing dialog. It was an excellent experience and would strongly recommend the company.
