HR was nice but often committed to response times that werent the most accurate. All the interviewers were friendly but seemed a bit scattered. I asked about turnover rate and they were honest by saying that most people hit a cap at about 3-5 years at a mid level.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Katana (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2019
Interview
Interview was more of a friendly conversation of getting to know you and get a feel of personality over skill. It was followed with a free meal to test out their menu.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Katana (London, England) in Nov 2014
Interview
Initial communication was by email inviting me in for a 1:1 interview. Upon arrival for my 1:1 interview I was introduced to the whole team before being brought to the communal cafeteria for the interview. I was asked questions by the owner and the tech lead. I was asked about my motivation and commitment to the industry, my previous projects and what my main goal was for working as a web developer. The only downside to the whole process was that it was not very private. The interview took place in the communal cafeteria and I did not feel we had enough privacy.
