      Retail Experience Consultant Interview

      Sep 19, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kasasa (Austin, TX) in Aug 2016

      Interview

I was emailed 11 days after submitting an application for the position with an invitation to the first round of interviews. They were first come, first served interviews at a Panera Bread and the setup was very awkward. The manager at Panera didn't know they were set up there and they didn't have anyone saying where to go, so the two women sitting hidden at the back of the restaurant were very hard to find. The interview went well and the interviewer had very positive comments about everything about the interview. I was told I should hear back by the following Tuesday. It's been close to three weeks and no one has reached out, but the opening has been taken off the website, meaning they have made hiring decisions. I called 3 business days ago, left a voicemail checking on my application status and have still not heard back. It was all very unprofessional.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Kasasa (Austin, TX) in Apr 2016

      Interview

Initially, there was a brief Skype interview which covered basic background questions. It was a pleasant and normal formality to achieve the next step of an in-person interview. From there, I was asked to come in for an interview. My point person suggested that I dedicate at least 6 hours preparing to give a presentation similar to what this position requires. I dedicated much more time than that, coming up with original content and practicing my presentation thoughtfully. I presented to 5 people, and it all seemed to be going great. They asked tough but practical questions after the presentation was over. I felt a great response from the team. After that, there was a tour of the office where I met many people from several different departments. The interview took about 2 hours. I was told that I would hear back within a week or so. My point person never took the time to email me again. She could not even be bothered to respond to an email when I checked in on the status of the hiring process 3 weeks later. I feel that if you ask someone to take time to study and come in and meet with your team, then you at least owe them a follow up, even if that follow up is a no. It is unprofessional and a pretty unwelcome experience.
