I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KPIX CBS (San Francisco, CA) in May 2024
Interview
The interview process was easy and straight-forward. They are especially interested in candidates who studied journalism in school or express a strong interest in news/current events. They also want candidates who are flexible and able to work overnight hours in addition to weekend shifts.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KPIX CBS (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2015
Interview
Normal, three people. Uninterested in new ideas. Finding that all of the television stations in the Bay Area are so focused on ratings and status quo way of doing things, that they're stuck back int he 80's
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Being in the industry for so long, how jaded are you? (a little odd... but a good one)
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at KPIX CBS (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Dropped a paper resume and DVD video reel to front security desk with manager's name on it. Got a phone call about a week later from Ops Manager to come in for interview. I was asked very basic questions about my work ethics and availability. I don't even think my video reel was even reviewed before I got the call. Got hired on the spot. Overall, a very casual experience.
