I applied online and heard back within a few days. The first step was a video based interview with about five general questions. I completed that the same night I was sent it, and the next day received an email to schedule an in-person interview. Along with the interview, I was asked to prepare some "homework". The assignment involved reviewing the company's social media profiles and offering feedback on where they could improve, as well as new marketing ideas. It was due a few days before my interview.
For the in-person interview, I met with two groups of people. The first group was composed of three individuals from the human resources team. These ladies were very friendly and each came prepared with a few questions on my experience listed in my resume. For the second interview, two managers arrived with laptops. They brought their computers, as they had not had a chance to review my assignment ahead of time. While glancing at their screens, they inquired about my assignment and asked me more questions on how they could improve their social media profiles.
The interview ended on a positive note and I was told I would hear back within a few days. I never did. I didn't follow up because I was no longer interested due to the unprofessionalism and lack of positive candidate engagement. Why have a candidate complete an assignment with a strict due date if you weren't going to review it in advance? I honestly felt like they weren't interested in hiring me due to my lack of specific teaching experience, but only continued with the interview to get my thoughts on improving their social media platforms.
