I applied to the job in March, I received a request to do a recorded interview answering 3 general questions: why do you want to work at J&J, what experience makes you a good fit, what are your 3 top skills.
I received an email from the hiring manager 2 weeks later requesting a virtual interview. I thought this was weird because typically a member of hr or a someone from talent acquisition facilitates communication, and at the very least provides information on the application process. I accepted the interview anyway, the meeting was 40 minutes long and was suppose to be with the hiring manager, and two others. The hiring manager and 1 other attended. I was asked about the credo, some regulatory questions, supplier experience etc. towards the end of the interview the hiring manager mentioned there were other internal candidates so it confirmed my feelings on why the interview/process felt so off. I assume that my interview was part of a due diligence or something and will likely not hear back from the manager following the interview because the role would be offered to the internal candidate. I feel like my time was wasted.
