I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Johnson Matthey (Smithfield, PA) in Jun 2014
Interview
Applied online and received a call to schedule an interview a few days later. Panel interview seemed to go okay but was a bit stand-offish. Then took a computer test with basic math and reading skills. Took around 2 hours or so for everything. It took them several weeks to inform me I was not selected. I was then instructed that I could apply to lesser non-engineering position within the company, which I did not pursue.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Basic behavioral questions in a panel, then a plant tour where more questions were asked and finally a computer aptitude test.
You pass through all the levels of the department, from the shift supervisor to the manager. All in one day, what is great. Also, you have to answer a knowledge process/chemistry test. Human Resources attention is great.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Johnson Matthey (Devon, PA) in Jun 2023
Interview
The managers don't know how to interview people. They asked a bunch of behavioral questions. They are only looking for good storytellers instead of people who can work actually. The worst experience I ever had.
Thank you for your feedback on your interview with JM. We are sorry to hear you had a negative experience - while our interview teams do incorporate competency-based and situational judgement questions into their process, we do appreciate you highlighting our areas of improvement during the technical portion.
I applied through university. I interviewed at Johnson Matthey (Wayne, PA)
Interview
Attended a group interview day where we were given a presentation along with an introduction of the company. After was a plant tour and then individual interviews. There were a total of three different interviewers, all which were plant supervisors and were once process control engineers.
