I am writing this review in hopes that TSX will consider feedback for the application process. I applied for a job within NSAD, having been internally referred to the position. I submitted the application in mid-July. After my status sat as “Under Review” for 3 months, I tried calling TSX. After getting transferred from the main operator, I sat on the phone while it rang for 2-3 minutes, and then the line was disconnected. After trying again and leaving a voicemail, I sent an email inquiry via the main APL contact page, and never heard back. Fast forward another month, and I call TSX again — this time I was successfully connected to someone. I was told that it was odd for an application to be under review for that long with no updates, so they reached out to the hiring manager. Within an hour, I received an email from the hiring manager, and was told that the job I applied for actually no longer exists. Apparently, it had been unposted and put on hold back in September and nobody had been reviewed or interviewed, yet nobody actually updated the status in applicants’ dashboards, or otherwise reached out to them to inform them that the job was on hold. As someone who has heard wonderful things about working at APL, I was quite disappointed by this experience, and hope that TSX will follow up with hiring managers to ensure that applicants will be properly updated if jobs are cancelled/put on hold.
