A slightly strange interview and dynamic. It was a panel interview, with the reporting manager, a HR and some of the technical team.
The interview began with the manager being very shocked at how I apparently looked very different to the profile photo I had on my resume. I was a little taken aback as it was only a very recent photo but tried to agree it was just one of those things and play it off with a smile.
They then asked where I lived. This for some reason seemed to be quite a sticking point throughout the interview. I live approximately 50-60mins drive from the office. The entire panel seemed very concerned by this, checking whether I have a car and how I feel about that travel. I replied I currently commute to the city and it's roughly the same amount of travel time anyway, so nothing new or concerning for me.
The technical questions revolved around previous experience with SIEM's and monitoring systems mainly, nothing out of the ordinary. Though their concern for where I can traveling from did continue throughout.
