I recently had an interview with an internal recruiter at J.P. Morgan Chase and unfortunately found the experience very disappointing. The interviewer was abrupt, frequently cut me off mid-sentence, and came across as cold and robotic rather than engaging in a professional conversation.
When discussing compensation, I explained that my expectations would depend on the overall package including bonus (since this wasn’t specified in the job advert). I was cut off and told, quite dismissively, that only the base salary was of interest. This came across as unnecessarily rude and dismissive of a reasonable question.
Overall, the process felt unprofessional and left me with a negative impression of the team and company culture. It’s put me off wanting to pursue opportunities here further.
