The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Bountiful, UT) in Apr 2009
Interview
I submitted a resume through Monster.com. Initial phone call was really just to schedule in person interview. Interviewed by Investment Manager in person. He asked me to present an investment presentation to him. In addition to more traditional interview questions. I was later interviewed via telephone by his boss the Senior Investment Manager. Once again a fairly typical interview but he did ask me to make a investment sales presentation over the phone to him.

Question 1
Please present a Municipal Bond Investment to me just as would a potential customer with little investment experience.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Atlanta, GA) in Feb 2014
Interview
Was an internal hire from a banker position coming into an advisor position so the process may be different. Took a few weeks. Fairly quick process since I had been on the radar for at least a year. Met with the Market Director who was very open about the position. Role play of different scenarios and customer types. Had me present the breakdown of a mutual fund. Discussed compensation in depth. We discussed my family life and finances more in depth than most would because he expressed his desire to make sure that it made sense for my family for me to step into the role. Shared that he had struggled when he came into the same role years ago and how it affected his family so he focuses on making sure anyone he brings to the team will be ok. I appreciated that. After that it was a brief convo with the Regional Director who is basically just following up, and it was a done deal. Again this was my first advisor position so an experienced advisor from outside the firm would more than likely have a completely different process.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2012
Interview
My hiring was just after the "seizure" of Washington Mutual, many employees including advisors were leaving for other banks and other companies, so the hiring manager needed "fresh meat" for several branches in San Diego, CA and surrounding areas.
