I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Cleveland, OH) in Dec 2011
Interview
I applied online Nov 20. Completed the assessment test and passed. 9 Days later I got an email requesting to call a recruiter. I called within 2 days. I prepared myself to be ready for a pre-interview with the recruiter and it was just that. She asked about my experience, availability, a few situation questions, etc. The next day I received a call from the branch I applied to and scheduled an interview with the assistant manager. At the interview, I sat in a cubicle with the assistant manager and she had a list of questions to ask. I was well prepared again thanks to this site. At the end of the interview the assistant manager said she would call me within a week or she may refer me to another local branch. I wasn't clear as to why but ok. So within the next week the other local branch's assistant manger called me and left a message to come in for an interview. I was upset at the fact that I would have to go through this again when I didn't really want to or understand why I wasn't being considered at the other branch anymore, but I returned her call the next day and scheduled an interview with her for the next day. The branch manager was also in the room while the assistant manager interviewed me. This interview had the same list of questions but it was easier because the manager improvised the questions to make them easier to answer and she was more-so giving me an informative overview of the position the whole time. She was very nice and I actually liked this branch better than the previous one. At the end of the interview the managers said they weren't trying to hire anyone quickly and that they probably wouldn't be making a decision for the position until after the holiday which is about 3 weeks from now. That upset me, as I was hoping to get working asap, but I didn't let it show. So now I'm going to send out a personal thank you letter to the managers and just hope for the best.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What do you consider to be excellent customer service?
The interviewer asks a bunch of situational questions that try to test your critical thinking skills, but it's a challenge especially if you don't have much on the job experience.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when... you had a difficult customer service experience
Straightforward. Calm. Very congenial. Nice people smart and honest. Would definitely consider working here given the caliber of talent. Quantitative questions werent too difficult. Just some math like addition subtraction multiplication division and quadratic equations.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Riverside, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
It was over the phone. They have you chose a time to set your interview and then you wait for your scheduled time and they will call you. It's a pretty quick interview lasted maybe 20 minutes.
