JD Beauty interview questions

I was contacted by a recruiter about the position, the company wanted someone to start immediately, or to go in for an interview. Since I already have a job, I wanted to give them some time for them to find someone else, so I had talked it out with my manager about what I was going to do. After the weekend passed, the recruiter informed me that the company decided to promote within, instead of hiring someone new. I was ready to quit my current job, to go immediately to this company! They are totally unprofessional to do this, if they weren't sure what they were doing yet.. they shouldn't have gone to the lengths of asking a recruiter for help and getting someone's hopes up about an immediate position...
