I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at JCPenney (Downey, CA) in Jun 2013
Interview
I applied in April and didn't get an interview until mid June. It consisted of 2 separate group interviews. The first was a team building group interview where we built a structure as a group taking turns delegating the group to build the structure correctly. The second group interview took place on the sales floor where we had to learn a certain brand and try to help and sell the brand to the interviewer then was given a rack of clothes where we had to set up the clothes like it would be set up on the sales floor.
Easy, got hired in 1 week and was able to start as soon as possible. It was a good process and I liked the people I interviewed with. The culture is off to a positive start.
The interview process begins with an initial screening to review qualifications and experience. Selected candidates then participate in one or more interviews with the hiring team, which may include behavioral and role-specific questions. Final candidates may be asked to complete an assessment or meet with senior stakeholders before a hiring decision is made. Candidates are kept informed throughout the process.
