      Junior Sales Manager Interview

      Application

      I interviewed at InterNations

      Interview

Applied online directly on InterNations career site, about 2 days later received an email that they were interested and would like me to complete a 4 hour long task to test my suitability before inviting to direct interview. The task was emailed to me on the agreed date, it consisted of 2 sub tasks, I completed it and sent it back after completion. About 2 days later I received an email that they were happy with the results of my task, but before they invite me for an interview my salary expectations (which was given in the initial application) were too high and would I be willing to negotiate. I responded to the email that I would be willing to negotiate and for 2 weeks I received no response whatsoever, I sent a follow up email after a week and still no response. However before they responded to emails either immediately or within a maximum of 2 days. I found it a little rude that they expected me to put a lot of time and effort into a task (4 hours is quite a lot to me, and much more than many other companies out there) to inform me they were pleased with my results and then completely go blank on me ignoring my response. If you were happy with my results then surely you could have the decency to respond to my mail answering your questions. Unsure if this is a tactic to get ideas from potential candidates as a couple weeks later I received an email -as a member of InterNations- with the exact thing they asked us to do in the task. Disappointing as I thought this would be a really amazing company to work for, however now I'm really glad it didn't work out based on how they acted in this situation.
