Interview
You've heard the radio ads everywhere...."Apply today for immediate hire" but it was everything but.....applied mid November online. The application and assessment took about 2 hours, upon completion I received an email that the next step was to go in and meet with a "Placement Specialist." I chose to do so that same day. After arriving to the office and signing in, I was advised my application was not able to be located and told to come back the next day. After doing so, I successfully completed the process and given a start date. I arrived to Amazon on my start date only to be told I was not on the list citing my drug test was pending. By now it had been 2 weeks and no one contacted me to notify me of the delay. Being proactive I contacted the lab and they indeed needed some additional information, this cleared the hold, at least I thought. Later that same day, received a new welcome email of a new start and then 2 days later received an automated call that I would not be able to start my assignment. Contacted the online chat for associates who indicated that was a discrepancies and would have the local office call me back. Also advised to contact number in welcome letter, after doing so, the rep indicated that I was not eligible to work at Amazon., left me in total disbelief. Just trying to pick up some extra money, I have a stellar work history, impeccable references, and degreed with a strong work ethic. Never been arrested nor have I ever taken ANY recreational drugs. I usually pick up a 2nd job every year during the holidays and now this poorly executed process, I have missed out on seasonal work. I was advised that I could not be given specifics that affected that decision. Wonder if Amazon is aware of the employment practice discrepancies.

Interview
basicly pass a drug screen and a background check. I do not believe they do a background check... you have to perform a test to check your grasp of the English language. and a high school diploma. and that you can read at a high school level, then a photo for an ID. and then pick the job you want and the shift you want...
We're glad to hear that you had a positive experience during the interview process! We do run a background check on all of our applicants, as this is a requirement for our positions. Good luck on your assignment--please reach out to your local team if you need anything!
