The hiring manager I believe was the head of sales as well. Read several reviews in regards of the working life in Ink well it sounded really great when I’ve read the reviews coming from Ink Global. But that was Ink Global however in Malaysia/Singapore I find my interview experience is somewhat overwhelming. The first phone call interview was great the recruiter was very straightforward and she even congratulated me when I passed the first stage. However, the second stage was what I did not expected.
The interviewer asked me to tell something which was not in my cv. I was stunned at first as it was something I was not prepared of but nevertheless since it was a sales role I had prepared a pitch deck to share my pitching skills with the interviewer but upon asking if the interviewer wanted to see my pitch deck I was rejected. The interviewer then asked several questions regarding the company and I did manage to answer most of the questions since I’ve did my research about the company. But things fell apart when the interviewer straight away mentioned that I am not the candidate she is looking for. I am fine with the rejection but its just the way she said it makes me uncomfortable.
She mentioned that she’s looking for a “hunter” whereas in her eyes I was a “farmer”. I did asked if training is provided for this role she said yes. However upon asking if she could turn a farmer into a hunter she said not with you. When I asked her to define and give me a better view of hunter vs farmer she proceeded to search for the terms on the Internet.
I then thank her for the opportunity and we ended the interview session. I somehow felt distressed the way she was emphasising on how she felt I was not the one she’s looking for.
Anyways I wish nothing but the best for the company
