      Engineer Interview

      Apr 3, 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Charlotte, NC
      No offer
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at InVue (Charlotte, NC) in Feb 2013

      Interview

Emphasizes “Entrepreneurial” environment. Translation: You’re habitually driven hard all the time on unrealistic time schedules and constantly “defending” yourself. Felt like I was going resent working in a fighting ring rather than an office. Spoke off line to other employees there – verified my sentiments. (thank you linkedin)

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Engineering manager not answering my question based off my chats with several others - in other departments as well: Question: "If I was 85% done with my project and a significent change just occurred, what gives: Time, Quality, Resources (engineering help)?" - His answer was "use your imagination" - I was. Being Entrepreneurial I did my work ahead of time and asked him... he didn't like it. (That was in my second interview) Theme answer from others there was basically - you're going to get it done on your time... He didn't want to answer that. (I had wind of this right before my first interview, but verified it more as time progressed). That made me 'wonder' about going there... but I needed to verify which took time. I'd say - probably a good company overall - but just not for me - not my cup of tea...
