Began with a quick phone call with a recruiting manager to see fit. Questions on my experience, scenarios, and availability. During this phone call an in-person interview was organised for the next week.
In-person interview (30 minutes) was with one manager in-person, and another manager on video call. The interview consisted of a rundown of the role, followed by scenario questions and questions such as “describe a time you x”. Interview felt quite generic, with limited conversational flow or genuine interest in what I had to say. Standard questions with standard expected answers such as “how do you communicate with team members when you are running behind schedule?”.
One thing to note during the in-person interview is that they were shocked and a bit reluctant about the fact that I don’t have or drive a car. Possibly something to add in the job listing if it is an implicit requirement.
Shortly after the interview I was invited to complete an online assessment through Criteria (the online test that pretty much every company uses… with the bubble number and spelling mistake questions). What I found odd was that I had to complete a total of around 7 different types of assessments, with an expected completion time of 86 minutes. Many of the types of tests were repetitive, redundant, and irrelevant. Major area of improvement in their recruitment process.
Haven’t heard back for about a month. If this role has been filled, I’d suggest to IVE to be more proactive with continuous communication and feedback.
