A goon has held your friend hostage. He says he will only take 2 shots at your friend. You want to save your friend. His revolver has 6 chambers. At first empty, he puts 2 bullets in successive chambers. He then spins it. He fires a shot at your friend, it was blank (empty chamber). Now he asks you if you want him to spin it again before taking the shot? or take the shot straight away. What will you tell him, to maximize the chances of your friend being saved? Calculate the probability of your friend being saved, for both cases.
Suppose you are a Technical Analyst at ION. You have a client who is a banking firm. They have raised the query that something is wrong with the login page. It keeps crashing for some reason. Please fix this on an urgent basis, as it is costing them great losses.
Now, your engineering team is unavailable. All of them are either on leave (they cannot be contacted), or are occupied with another high-priority project, so they have no time. Also, you don't have access to the codebase.
What will you do in this situation? How will you troubleshoot the issue? What will you say to the client? Explain all the steps you would be taking.
I applied online. I interviewed at ION Group (Gurgaon, Haryana)
Interview
The initial interview process was in 2 parts: technical and case study.
The technical part contained a few questions based on my resume and a few behavioral questions (may vary depending on the interviewer), and if you pass that, you head on to the case study part. The case study part can be solved if you use your common sense and creativity. Overall, it was a decent process.
