I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HomeUnion (Irvine, CA) in Oct 2017
Interview
They gave me a brief phone interview that led to an in person interview. I interview with the HR manager and the sales manager. The whole thing took about 2 weeks and I was hired.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Basic things like: tell us about yourself. do I have a real estate license? why do you want this role? what are you looking for in a role?
Applied a few months back. Was emailed by their recruiter within 2 business days. Scheduled a phone call for less than a week out. Definitely seemed like HomeUnion was pushing to fill their sales position. Was asked the typical interview questions you can find online re: previous experiences, "give me an example of when...". We did go through my entire resume and my experiences with each of my previous jobs and why I had left. After interview with recruiter I was invited to an interview on location with both their CEO and CFO. I had previously asked recruiter who I would be interviewing with and she did not indicate it would be the CEO, so keep that in mind when you attend the interview to avoid a surprise. Both interviews we dissected my resume and experience at each one of my previous employers. I could tell that one had their mind set on my joining while the other had their reservations. Regardless, after this interview I was emailed a background check and official application for employment forms via the recruiter and I was asked to come back for an additional interview with what would have been my direct sales manager. The recruiter stressed the importance of completing the background check and submitting the forms ASAP which I did and my interview with the sales manager was more of a conversation of how I like to work and when was my availability.
To my surprise I was not given an offer even though all signs indicated we were heading in that direction. Didn't see the need for the recruiter to get my personal information for a background check that was never done (provided SSN). Ultimately left a bad taste in my mouth as it seemed like not everyone in the hiring process was on the same page.

Interview
I applied online. The HR Manager sent an email asking when I would be available for a phone interview. They called me twenty minutes late, and the interview was scheduled for a half an hour. Once we connected, the interviewer demanded salary history, and stated that income was verified. Not the the trusting start I was hoping for. Also, they asked if I was interested in a different position. I listened, and kindly told them I was not.
