      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hologic (Newport Beach, CA) in Jan 2019

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter. After finishing an online assessment I was pushed through to an in person interview. I met with a regional sales manager named Pete who I felt like wanted to intimidate me off the bat. I sat down with him and another employee, who was in the position I was applying for, at a restaurant in a hotel. During the interview he was eating salmon while asking me questions which I thought was pretty unprofessional. A few questions in he asked if I was nervous and I said I was. He replied, "It's pretty obvious." As we went through my resume and I answered several questions he pauses and says "what's your it factor". I replied and he tells me that there seems to be nothing to me. He goes on to say he doesn't think I have any it factor and pretty much that I am a waste of air. His employee who was sitting right next to him even said something under her breath to the extent of "ouch". After that the interview was awkward and I was pretty taken back by the behavior of Hologic's Regional Sales Manager. I understand that interviewers like to see how you react to situations but I think this was taking it a little too far. Maybe I wasn't a qualified candidate but that doesn't mean you should attack someone personally for it. I left the hotel shocked and so disappointed that a company as large as Hologic would hire such a crude person. I would never want to work for a company that interviews this way. I have been through other medical device/pharmaceutical sales interviews in the past and no one has ever tried to bully me in the process.

Thank you for providing candid feedback. We strive for a positive candidate experience with each and every candidate and have since parted ways with this manager. We apologize that this happened. This feedback has been shared across the organization and is being used as a learning and training opportunity to ensure this will not happen again in the future.

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Hologic

      Interview

The interview process was extended and involved multiple stages over a longer period of time. While I appreciated the opportunity to meet with several stakeholders, the timeline was more prolonged than initially anticipated, which ultimately impacted my ability to move forward.
