The interview process began with an online application on LinkedIn and portfolio review. After that, there was a video call interview where they discussed my editing experience, software knowledge, and creative approach to projects. I was also given a short editing task to complete within a set deadline to evaluate practical skills and workflow.

Question 1
Can you explain your video editing workflow and how you approach storytelling and pacing in edits?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HighKey Agency (Calgary, AB) in Sep 2025
Interview
The interview process was simple and straightforward, with multiple clear stages. It started with submitting a resume, cover letter, and an optional portfolio. If selected, the next step involved recording a short video answering a set of questions provided by the company. After that, there was an interview focused on discussing my background, experience, and motivation for wanting to work there. The following stage included a take-home assignment with tasks directly related to the role. Once that was completed, the final step was an interview with either the CEO or an Operations Manager, where additional role-specific questions were asked. In some cases, they may request extra portfolio pieces or examples of work. Overall, the process was fairly easy, well-structured, and the questions were mostly job-related and based on material I had prepared for.
