I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hexagon Mining (Vancouver, BC) in Jun 2018
Interview
Process took 3 weeks. First, I was contacted by phone without an appointment. The Talent Acquisition Specialist just told me I got an interview with Hexagon for the Junior Software Developer role, would I be available for an interview at [date/time]. She did not screen my background or conduct an informal phone interview before setting a time to meet in person.
At the interview, the interviewer started by telling me about the company, why are they hiring, and gave me a very concrete detail about their timeline, for instance, explained that I will be invited for the second interview next week if I a selected. Asks mainly behaviour questions, my past experiences, and several technical knowledge questions. The environment is very friendly, the interviewer encourages me to express my ideas.
At the end, he concluded that I do have a good chance of making in the second round as they are selecting 3 out of 15 people into a second round, which will be an in depth technical interview. The interview lasted 1.5 hours, half an hour longer than the expected time. I thought I did really well especially that he replied to my thank you email that I sent on the following day.
Unfortunately, I was not selected to advance to the second round.
